Getting Summer Body Ready

Getting Summer Body Ready

Getting summer body ready has always been a real emotional task. Generally speaking, you gruel over the physical work that goes into planning your meals, keeping a work out schedule, holding yourself together when stress begins threatening to throw you back into the old habits of binging on your favorite bag of potatoe chips. Yes, the fiasco of it all is hard emotionally speaking. But, that’s what it takes if you want to see results. So,  it’s back to basics for me.
I want to get fit for summer! (Don’t look at me with those eyes.) Me, you, my grand ma’, everybody, we all want to get our bodies looking it’s best.  we wish we could have it looking it’s best all year round too. Not just to show off for the warmest months of the year.

As I transition into becoming a(n active) lifestyle blogger, I plan on doing, lots and lots, of fashion inspiration and swimwear posts. I figured the best way to keep me motivated is by sharing my goal to accomplish this with you guys. *accountsblity buddies*

Now, I’ve always loved working out, but my body doesn’t quite love it the same way that my mind does.  Because of that, and when life comes hard at me I fall off. And I mean really fall off my healthy lifestyle. I go months with out working out, mediating, no positive affirmations and bouts of gratitude. I even fall behind on my conscious eating (vegan some days, vegetarian some, and pescatarian others). My healthy lifestyle takes a kick to the shin and crumbles to bits and pieces.

This morning with 3 grains of selfmotivation and a sprinkle of vanity, I hopped into my Nike gear and popped the Insanity work out in the player. πŸ˜–πŸ˜’πŸ˜© y’all I died. I got through 15 ministers before breaking out in hives and finding my eyes and face swelling.

A little Backstory: If I’ve not shared it before: I have a moderate to severe allergy to refined sugar😢. This means Anything that has white/Refined sugar or high fructose corn syrup in it is on my watch list. I can not consume it in high doses or else its serious consequences to pay! Exercise always seems to cause a reaction to kick into overdrive. So it’s no wonder I took a beating.

Lately, I’ve been Influenced by a certain sugar loving friend who makes it realllly hard to say no to my cravings. Every time I hear the foil paper wrapping tearing from a bar of imported chocolatey-milk-chocolate goodness I know I’m about to loose this battle. I’ve been dipping my hand in the boxes it should not be in. Peanut butter chocolate this-hazel nut chocolate that. It’s been wild!

This workout kicked by butt in a lot of ways. I’m out of shape! Seriously. Sigh. Is love to just call it quits. But, the way this summer set up (traveling in Paradise Vixen‘s too cute bikinis) not gonna happen if it looking like the pilsbury dough girl – rolls n all. Y’all I’m too self conscious to allow my body to get back to my old self again. So it’s going to be another do or die work out this evening. I’m doing work outs twice a day. 30-40 mins each. Cardio x strength training 2 times a dayπŸ˜πŸ˜–πŸ˜©.

In the main time check out my fluorescent green and black workout gear by Nike.  The sun hit it and I was literally glowing!
